Week 7 Game Preview: Quad City Steamwheelers @ Sioux Falls Storm

APRIL 29TH, 2023 MOLINE, IL – WEEK 7 GAME PREVIEW PRESENTED BY QC TIMES

Following a thrilling 49-44 win over the Massachusetts Pirates, the Quad City Steamwheelers will take the road to face their Eastern Conference Rivals, the Sioux Falls Storm.

Last week, quarterback E.J. Hilliard Jr. delivered a 5-touchdown (4 passing, 1 rushing)/0-interception performance that was capped off by a clutch 21-yard bomb to wide receiver Keyvan Rudd with 0:07 left in the fourth quarter. The result was the Wheelers' fourth consecutive win this season.

Running back Jerron McGaw earned QC Strongman of the Game honors after catching 7 passes for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns. Including his 21 rushing yards and 23 kick return yards, McGaw accounted for 117 yards in total.

Wide receiver Mike Carrigan produced another multiple-touchdown performance, scoring on both the ground and through the air. Kicker

Chase Allbaugh missed his first field goal of the game, but bounced back by hitting 3 in a row from distances of 14, 19 and 39 yards.

Linebacker Marquis Hendrix led the Wheelers in total tackles for the third game in a row (8), just ahead of defensive back Darreon Jackson who tallied 7 total tackles in addition to an interception.

Sioux Falls is riding the momentum of a 55-47 win over the Green Bay Blizzard. Quarterback Lorenzo Brown Jr. was dominant, completing 13 of 16 passes (81.3%) for 121 yards, 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions through the air. On the ground, he added another 4 touchdowns rushing.
