APRIL 29th, 2023 MOLINE, IL -
The Quad City Steamwheelers had visited their Eastern Conference rival the Sioux Falls Storm, this season's second of three matchups. The Wheelers seek to continue their winning ways while the Storm defend their home turf in Week 7 of the IFL.
Starting their initial drive, QB E.J. Hilliard Jr. and the Quad City offense go the length of the field capped off by a WR CJ Windham touchdown toppling over the wall. PAT good, Wheelers 7-0.
Pinned deep in their own end after the kick off, QB Lorenzo Brown Jr. led his offense down the field. WR Tony Tate took the jet sweep and forced his way in for six. PAT no good, Wheelers 7-6.
Back on the field, Hilliard got sacked on 3rd down by LB James Brown which set up a field goal attempt that was no good.
Sioux Falls next series finished with a Brown Jr. strike to WR Cole Thurness for the score. PAT no good, Storm 12-7.
Needing a matching score, Hilliard does just that, finding WR Mike Carrigan open in the endzone. PAT good, Wheelers 14-12.
The Storm generated a good possession to regain the lead from a RB Xavier Jackson rushing score. PAT no good, Storm 18-14.
One last push before half, WR Keyvan Rudd took it in with his legs. PAT good, Wheelers 21-18.

Commencing the second half, Brown Jr. connected with Thurness on the first play, touchdown. PAT good, Storm 25-21.
Hilliard's pass was intercepted by diving DB Antwan Hadley.
Trying to extend their lead off the turnover, WR Dwight Blakey took the handoff for the score that ended
the drive. PAT good, Storm 32-21.
The Quad City offense, trying to find any sort of momentum, had Hilliard using his legs and fighting in for the touchdown. 2 point conversion good, Storm 32-29.
One play, one rushing score from Jackson put the lead back at double digits. PAT good, Storm 39-29. The fourth quarter started by Hilliard linking with Rudd for a touchdown. PAT no good, Storm 39-35.
Back and forth battle continued with Brown Jr. finding Thurness again for the score. PAT good, Storm 46-35.
Sioux Falls got the 1 point rouge on the kick off. RB Jerron McGaw made an impressive catch and run to extend the drive into enemy territory. Hilliard finished off the drive with yet another rushing touchdown adding to his season total. PAT no good, Storm 47-41.
Illegal touching on the onside attempt set up Sioux Falls in the red zone. Brown Jr. got his first rushing touchdown of the game. 2 point conversion is no good. Storm, 53-41.
Back-to-back Storm sacks placed late pressure on the Steamwheelers and forced the turnover-on-downs.
Brown Jr. found WR Donnie Corley Jr. for the score, making this game out of reach for the Steamwheelers. PAT no good, Storm 59-41.
Rudd pulled it in for the late score, his third total touchdown on the night. 2 point conversion no good, Storm 59-47.
The Quad City Steamwheelers fall to 4-2 on the season and Sioux Falls Storm get back to a positive record. An exciting Week 8 matchup next weekend as the Steamwheelers take to the road and head to Des Moines to face off against the Iowa Barnstormers on Saturday, May 6th, with a 7:05 PM CT kickoff.
