In their first 2023 matchup with the Green Bay Blizzard, the Quad City Steamwheelers walked away with a 63-56 win at home. After a bye week to recharge their batteries, the Wheelers will take the road to Green Bay for an immediate rematch.
Against the Blizzard on May 26th, IFL MVP front-runner E.J. Hilliard Jr. put on another spectacular performance. 6 total touchdowns (3 passing, 3 rushing) and 0 interceptions. Behind Quad City's offensive- line, Hilliard took 0 sacks.
Running back Shane Simpson had a career-day: 16 carries for 128 rushing yards, 7.9 yards per-carry and 2 rushing touchdowns. He caught 2 passes for 18 yards and returned a kickoff for 34 yards to boot.
Veteran wide receiver Keyvan Rudd caught 8 passes for 109 yards and 2 touchdowns. "The Architect", Head Coach Cory Ross' offense was firing on all cylinders.
Defensive back Darreon Jackson recorded another 6 tackles, bringing his 2023 total to 53.5 (2nd in the IFL). His 6 interceptions this season also rank 2nd in the IFL through Week 11.
