About the Steamwheelers
The last outing for the sQUAD was a tough loss where the Steamwheelers mounted a 28-point comeback late in the 4th quarter, but fell short at the end. The Wheelers are currently 2-4 after the 55-53 loss to the Iowa Barnstormers who picked up their first win of the season. With a win this week, Quad City would be poised to get themselves in the playoff picture.
Judd Erickson made sure everybody ate when it came to the receivers, all Steamwheelers receivers that touched the field scored a touchdown. Veteran receiver Jarrod Harrington tallied 3 touchdowns on the evening. Iowa defense kept the run game in check a majority of the game, which proved detrimental as RB Edward Vander had been the Steamwheelers' bread and butter this season.
About the Storm
Sioux Falls is coming off of their first win in 279 days, as well as their first of the season after they took down the Green Bay Blizzard. It was a back and forth battle between the two teams until the end of the game with 11 lead changes occurring throughout the contest. They were led to victory by their rushing with all six touchdowns scored being taken into the endzone on the ground. RB Bryson Denly is looking to gash a Wheelers defense that is looking to have a statement game.
Last Time Out
The last time the Sioux Falls Storm and the Quad City Steamwheelers faced off was in the Wheelers' first game of the season. It was a thriller full of intensity and energy, players and fans alike full of emotion. It was a huge 38-32 overtime win with DB Trey Smith nabbing a game sealing INT for the sQUAD. Quad CIty is looking to have the same results this time around, as well as snapping this two game skid. Offense
Mike Irwin - QB // QCS - After missing some time with a concussion, Irwin returned to the field in the Wheelers last game against the Iowa Barnstormers.
