James Macklin

Raised in Walnut, IL a small town one hour east from the Quad Cities, James found his love for the game of football at the young age of 3 from watching every football game with his dad. James started playing football in 1st grade, and during his sophomore year of varsity realized his dream of playing collegiate football was possible. Following a few offers, James' dreams came true when he committed to go to Augustana College. There during his sophomore year, James was invited to the Quad City intern staff in 2022, developing a new found love for the business side of football. As an intern James was able to schedule over 40+ school visits, design and implement the first ever Steamwheelers kids football camp, and become a staple member among the organization. Going into 2023, James brought that same leadership and tenacity assuming his first year as the Director of Game Operations. In this new position, James was able to boost and top what was done in 2022. The most notable improvement is his advancement of Military Night. James spearheaded the campaign and was able to include 30+ military active duty and veterans in the game, bring in 10+ motorcycles to pay tribute to all veterans and active duty military, and create a veterans worthy show.

Fast forward to 2024 James, currently a senior at Augustana College, is going into his second year as the Director of Game Operations. As one of the youngest staff members in an already young staff, James has played a pivotal role in rebuilding the culture and evolving the perspective on Indoor Football. Looking to 2024, he is aiming to top each and every theme night.
