Box Score

JUNE 24TH, 2022 Henderson, NV – With an incredible chain of events leading to a last second drive led by E.J. Hilliard Jr. and the Quad City offense secured the victory by punching it in with 5 seconds left on the game clock. Clutch PAT from Kimo Naehu, Wheelers win it in Vegas, 57-56.

Early on in the game, offense came out hot scoring on their first three possessions. Opening up the game with a quick one-play score from Hilliard to WR Isaiah Grice. Hilliard added another rushing touchdown to his remarkable season with a 40 yard house call. Then another touchdown by a designed QB draw. Electric first quarter tallying 84 yards of total offense on four plays and going up 20-16.

The Vegas offense came out and scored with a passing touchdown from Cameron Dukes to Jordan McCray. With a successful 2 point conversion, Knighthawks went up early 24-20. Steamwheelers responded with a touchdown pass to Keyvan Rudd, but closing out the first half down 38-27.

Once again Hilliard does what he is known for, taking it in himself and cutting the lead to 3. Vegas responded, but so did the Steamwheelers. Going hand and hand keeping the game close. With his fourth rushing touchdown of the game, Hilliard tied it up at 50 late in the fourth.

Wheelers continue to be hot late in the season going up 8-6 on the season and keeping the win streak alive. Next game will be in Texas to face the number 1 team in the Eastern Conference, Frisco Fighters, Saturday July 9.
